Distinguished Real Estate Broker Andy Perenick is the founder and owner of Berkshire Dream Home Real Estate in Dalton, Massachusetts. Primarily serving the beautiful, mountainous Berkshires region, Andy and his team have become renowned statewide for their competent and compassionate service for clients looking to buy and sell land, investment properties, rental properties, and family homes alike. Their industry-leading client care has earned Berkshire Dream Home sterling reviews on both Trulia and Zillow, and has garnered the attention of Top Agent Magazine.
Though today Andy is a preeminent Western Massachusetts Broker, he began his career down a very different path. Upon graduating with a degree in criminal justice from Saint Anselm College, he enjoyed a career as a Hampton, New Hampshire, and Winchester, Massachusetts, police officer. After meeting the love of his life—who was fortuitously the daughter of an entrepreneurial REALTOR®—Andy decided to follow in his father-in-law’s footsteps, resigning from the police department in 2004, and moving 140 miles west to start a new career focusing exclusively on real estate. "The shift in careers was largely motivated as a quality of life move," he notes. "Western Massachusetts is a beautiful area and a great place to raise a young family."
Upon making the switch to real estate, Andy quickly rose to the top of the Berkshire County market, distinguishing himself as both a top producer and a respected leader in his professional community. Andy has worked in all aspects of real estate, from dedicated buyers' agent to his current position at the helm of his own team and as Broker/Owner of Berkshire Dream Home Real Estate. He served as the general manager of RE/MAX Integrity until its closing in March of 2014. He was awarded the Berkshire REALTORS & Multiple Listing Service's REALTOR of the YEAR award in 2012. In April of 2014, he founded Berkshire Dream Home on the pillars of integrity, excellence, and customer service.
As the Broker/Owner of Berkshire Dream Home Real Estate, Andy has hand-selected a group of professionals who share his customer service mindset and dedication to working in the best interests of clients. Just four years since its founding, his team has already claimed a dominant market share—with over one hundred successful transactions per year—without losing their signature personalized touch. Today, the skill, expertise, and thoughtful client care exercised by the professionals of Berkshire Dream Home has earned them an impressive 90 percent referral rate and consistently stellar reviews.
In addition to Andy’s years of experience in real estate sales and investing in rental properties, he is also an active member of his local REALTOR® organizations. He has been an active member of the Berkshire County Board of Realtors since 2004 and served as the MLS President from 2011 to 2013, among numerous other leadership roles. A clear leader in the Berkshires real estate industry, Andy has insights into the trends and changes that occur in the market and can affect his clients. Although there are certainly changes that have affected the topography of current real estate transactions, the underlying principles of meeting the needs of the client and advocating for the best interests of the client remain the driving force. As Andy frequently notes, "Tactics change, principles don't."
A passionate broker and capable team leader, Andy is prepared to do what it takes for his clients, no matter what changes may be coming down the pike. Looking to the future, Andy looks forward to fostering the development of up and coming agents that share his vision. A favorite Zig Zaglar quote encapsulates this idea: "If you help enough other people meet their goals, you will meet your goals."
Andy resides in Dalton with his wife, Sarah, who is also a member of the Berkshire Dream Home Team, and his two boys, Alex and Jack, of whom he is very proud. He is a strong believer in charitable giving, both where he lives and where he vacations, and prioritizes translating his own success into doing good for others. In his free time, Andy supports the local Boy Scout group, is a sponsor for the Dalton youth lacrosse team, and is the President of the local Snowmobile Club. Andy and his family have spent time and resources doing charitable work in the Dominican Republic, including sponsoring a family and raising funds to build a home for them, as well as funding medical treatment for a woman with breast cancer. They are the new owners of U-Drive Boat rentals on Pontoosuc Lake in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Andy and his wife are also investors in many multi-family properties in the Pittsfield/Dalton area.
