With nearly thirty years of experience, Barbara M. Rodriguez is a top personal injury and immigration lawyer based in Glendale, California. As a bilingual attorney and skilled litigator, Attorney Rodriguez has developed a reputation as a formidable and compassionate advocate for those seeking help with personal injury and immigration concerns within the Spanish speaking communities of the greater Los Angeles area.

As the daughter of Cuban immigrants, Attorney Rodriguez witnessed firsthand the sacrifices made by immigrant parents. She was the first in her family to attend a university, graduating in 1989 from Western State University in Fullerton California. As she tells it, it was through her dedication to serving the Hispanic community that she found her passion for immigration law:

I became interested in personal injury law during my law school internships. Being Spanish-speaking, I felt compelled to educate and represent the Spanish community, so I focused on personal injury law within that community first. Then, about twenty years ago, my clients started asking questions about immigration. I started dabbling, and I quickly fell in love with the way immigration law allows me to help the Hispanic community and immigrants deal with the complicated process my parents went through.

Today, Attorney Rodriguez is authorized to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of California, the Federal District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Over the course of her career, she has successfully represented thousands of claimants in both personal injury and immigration law.  Regarding her client-first philosophy, she noted:

When the value of a personal injury claim is considered insignificant in the eyes of other attorneys, I will take the case.  What may seem small for them is an enormous problem in the lives of my clients.  I cannot walk away from helping others right a wrong.  It’s just not in my DNA.

Additionally, Attorney Rodriguez prioritizes truly connecting with her clients, including the immigrant families who come to her for help with one of the most controversial issues in the United States.  Speaking the language, understanding the cultures, and being sensitive to the struggles involved in both immigration and personal injury law allows her to build rapport that helps clients trust that she is on their side, no matter what.

As a leader in her field and a current member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Attorney Rodriguez keeps current in this ever-changing and challenging area of the law. In particular, she notes:

More than anything right now, it’s immigration law that I’m focusing on. It’s a hot topic right now and has been for some time, so there are always new things coming up to pay attention to, and new hopes for new opportunities for my clients.

As passionate about defending her clients’ rights as she was at the start of her practice nearly three decades ago, Attorney Rodriguez remains a pillar of hope for Spanish-speaking clients facing personal injury or immigration challenges. Looking to the future, she anticipates focusing more of her practice on immigration law to better meet the ever-evolving needs of the  Los Angeles area community.

Attorney Rodriguez notes that she is happy to have the opportunity to pass her commitment to justice on to her daughter who is currently attending law school at Southwestern Law School – Los Angeles.
