Don W. White is a prominent attorney in the Cincinnati metropolitan area with over forty years of experience. At his current position with Nichols, Speidel & Nichols in Clermont County, Ohio, Mr. White’s practice encompasses a broad range of legal matters, including personal injury and wrongful death, insurance defense, family law, business and civil litigation, divorce and dissolution of marriage, criminal defense, DUI, and wills. Mr. White’s achievements throughout his career have earned him recognition from Cincinnati Magazine.
After earning his Juris Doctor in 1973 from Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Mr. White spent the next twenty-four years as an elected prosecutor with Clermont County. During his tenure, he played an active role in crafting legislation in Ohio that dealt with crime victims and law enforcement and was a state Supreme Court-appointed member of the Ohio Sentencing Commission. He was also a member of the Ohio Prosecutor Association and served as its president in 2006.
In 2012, Mr. White retired from the prosecution office and went into private practice with Nichols, Speidel & Nichols. Today, he uses the benefit of his decades of experience in public service to provide clients with industry-leading legal advice and representation that is both effective and affordable.
As one of the most experienced attorneys in the state of Ohio, Mr. White has dedicated himself to educating and mentoring younger members of his profession. He previously served on Ohio’s Continuing Legal Education Commission and was a guest lecturer at Miami University in Ohio where he taught business law ethics. Additionally, he has lectured at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and UC Clermont on topics ranging from legal issues for the psychology department to primary law enforcement issues and paralegal studies.
Now practicing in a broad spectrum of legal areas, Mr. White is also focused on his own education to keep himself ahead of the curve. He noted:
Everything is constantly evolving. I try to stay on top of all the changes in both the rules of evidence and the rules of procedure for trying civil cases. As a civil trial lawyer, you try so many different kinds of cases and so you constantly need to be educating yourself on the latest developments in many different fields. I frequently read ABA journals and Ohio law journals to keep myself up to date.
With nearly five decades of practice behind him, Mr. White envisions sustained success in his practice as well as in his mentorship activities. As Nichols, Speidel & Nichols continues to grow and add new attorneys, he looks forward to aiding in the development of the younger lawyers at the firm while playing a significant role in recruiting new talent.
Outside of his legal career, Mr. White is the proud father of three successful children who are now in their forties and has six young grandchildren. He is also active in the American Cancer Society.
