Born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut, Dr. Leone had an early dream of serving his native community:
My first exposure to the medical profession was when I was diagnosed with appendicitis at the age of sixteen. That experience brought my attention to the world of science and medicine and I have wanted to be a primary care physician in my hometown ever since.
After earning his pre-med degree from Fairfield University, Dr. Leone went on to pursue his dream at the University of Bologna in Italy. Upon completion of his medical degree, he carried out both his internship and residency in internal medicine at Norwalk Hospital, an affiliate of the Yale University School of Medicine. Before joining Westmed Medical Group, Dr. Leone was a physician at Norwalk Medical Group.
With such extensive training and experience, Dr. Leone has developed a reputed practice at Westmed Medical Group. Today, he uses a hands-on approach to make patients feel comfortable and at ease. From annual exams and disease prevention to the diagnosis, treatment, or referral of more serious medical concerns, Dr. Leone’s comprehensive care is second to none.
An active member of his medical community, Dr. Leone is involved with the Fairville County Medical Association, the Connecticut State Medical Society, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American College of Physicians/American Society of Internal Medicine. He also serves as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Quinnipiac University’s Frank Netter School of Medicine where he lectures on current techniques and developments in internal medicine.
