E. Abel Arcia is an eminent personal injury and immigration attorney based in Queens, New York. With twenty-five years of experience, Mr. Arcia is the owner of The Law Office of Arcia & Associates, where he has become known for his skillful and comprehensive legal services during trying times in his clients’ lives, as well as his unique specialty in representing immigrants injured in construction accidents. Mr. Arcia is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum® and maintains a “Superb” rating on Avvo.
As Mr. Arcia tells it, his experience as an immigrant to the United States motivated him to work for a better society:
I came to this country by myself, as a teenager. I had no family here. I had to put myself through college, graduate school, and law school, and I did so mostly by waiting tables. That gave me a great opportunity to pay attention and observe how our society works, and I very quickly became aware that most immigrants did not have the same opportunities that I did. I decided I would apply the fruits of my labor to serve them. I have tried to advocate for the importance of better education, of taking care of your children, of treating workers fairly. Today, our firm employs over thirty people, and we all work for these same goals.
With not just his own success but also the success of his fellow immigrants in mind, Mr. Arcia was accepted to Auburn University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. In 1992, he graduated from Loyola University with his Juris Doctor. Mr. Arcia then spent several formative professional years with the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, where he gained essential experience with the prosecution side of litigation.
In 1995, Mr. Arcia founded the Law Office of Arcia & Associates, which today is known throughout the New York City metropolitan area as a safe haven for immigrants who need someone on their side. In an effort to service the diverse needs of his clients, Mr. Arcia’s firm takes on cases including bankruptcy and family law, as well as a wide range of personal injury/accident cases and immigration issues. It is Mr. Arcia’s unflinching dedication to improving the lives of his clients which sets him apart from his competition; just as committed to making the world a better place today as he was when he graduated from law school, Mr. Arcia works tirelessly to make a more just world.
As a result, over 90 percent of Mr. Arcia’s clients are immigrants, many of whom seek him out for his unique double specialization in immigration law and personal injury. “An immigrant who is injured but not legally entitled to work is facing an uphill battle,” he notes. “Changes in immigration law can greatly affect what kind of compensation someone in this situation is entitled to.” In addition to changes in general immigration law, Mr. Arcia is currently paying close attention to the federal debate on DACA recipients and other people who are vulnerable under the new presidential administration, noting:
I am keeping a close eye on what the executive branch signals they'll accept for DACA recipients, as well as any changes that they and Congress might come up with regarding family petitions. I am also paying close attention to any changes regarding the ability to be let out on bond under ICE custody, and any changes regarding asylum and victims of crimes or domestic violence.
With twenty-five years of experience behind him, Mr. Arcia shows no signs of slowing down. For his tireless client advocacy and his commitment to making the world a better place for those who need it most, Mr. Arcia has been recognized among the 10 Best Attorneys for Exceptional and Outstanding Client Service by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys. The Law Offices of Arcia & Associates has been recognized as the Largest Minority Law Firm in New York State by the New York Law Journal.
Looking forward, Mr. Arcia anticipates continued growth for his firm, with hopes of making it the premiere construction accident and immigration firm in the state of New York.
