Since beginning her career twenty-five years ago, Eileen Robert has helped countless clients find their dream home in New York City. Currently working with Compass, Eileen is a renowned expert in townhouses and high-end luxury residential properties throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. Her stellar production and industry-leading client service have earned Eileen recognition as Broker of the Year for Corcoran’s Chelsea Office in 2015 and a spot on the Wall Street Journal’s 2016 list of the top 500 brokers in America.
Though she is now one of NYC’s premier real estate brokers, Eileen actually began her career down a very different path. She recalls:
I was a professional photographer and artist back in the nineties. Obviously, it was hard to pay my bills in that line of work, so I felt that real estate would give me the flexibility to do both. As it turned out, I really loved working in real estate.
Having grown up on the Upper East Side and lived in Greenwich Village for many years, few agents are as well positioned as Eileen to help clients successfully navigate the intimidating world of New York City real estate. “I grew up in New York,” she said, “so I know the city, and I think people find me trustworthy because of that.”
Today, Eileen combines her encyclopedic knowledge of neighborhoods across the Big Apple with her artistic bent and a genuine passion for working with people. This enables her to give clients an insider’s perspective while putting them at ease throughout the process of buying or selling a home. Always willing to go the extra mile, clients appreciate Eileen for her warm and outgoing nature as well as her ability to achieve superior results.
These factors combine to make Eileen a perennial top producer in New York. A member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club, she ranked twenty-first nationwide for average sales prices by the Wall Street Journal in 2016. She was even chosen to represent Katharine Hepburn’s Estate in the sale of the famed actress's charming Turtle Bay Garden townhouse.
Drawing on her prior work as a photographer and artist, Eileen also possesses inimitable marketing and staging skills, which she uses to construct multimedia collages to help sellers show off their properties in extravagant fashion. Additionally, she stays at the cutting-edge of her field and leverages the latest technology to give all of her clients a leg up in New York’s competitive real estate market regardless of which side of a transaction they are on. As one of the most experienced real estate professionals in New York, Eileen can integrate her technological expertise with a human touch so often lacking in younger agents. She notes:
I first came to Compass because of the wonderful technology they offer their agents. The whole industry is getting more and more technology-based. But many of these young people in the field are entirely reliant on technology. They don’t understand that the human touch is essential.
After a quarter century dedicated to real estate, Eileen remains as ambitious and energetic as she was at the start of the career. While many would be content to rest on their laurels with the kind of numbers she has posted over the years, Eileen hopes to continue improving in the years to come. “My goal is always the same,” she noted, “just do better than the year before. I still get a real kick out of this job and I still love to help people find their dream home, and I think that makes me different.”
Outside of her thriving real estate career, Eileen is a loving mother of two and an active member of New York City’s art community. She is involved with several non-profit and artistic organizations, including the Whitney Museum of Art, MOMA, and the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation.
