John Ashton Snyder is a distinguished attorney based in Atlanta, Georgia. With eighteen years of experience, he is one of the preeminent trial lawyers in his area. He currently runs his own law firm, where he specializes in workers’ compensation.
After graduating from John Marshall Law School, Snyder’s career began with a wide focus. In addition to worker’s compensation, his practice has touched on Social Security disability and wide a variety of personal injury cases, including slip and falls, and auto accidents. But after five years in practice, Snyder realized he had a particular knack for workers’ compensation, and began focusing on it exclusively.
I was doing so much. I never felt like I got a handle on any of the three areas of law I was tackling. I reduced my personal injury and social security cases so that I could get really good at workers’ compensation.
Narrowing his focus has paid off greatly for Snyder, as he has since become one of the top attorneys within his specialization in Atlanta. For his efforts helping workers settle their claims he was recognized as an advocate by the National College of Advocacy through the American Association of Justice.
Known for his dedication to providing attentive and personalized service, Snyder and his staff make clients their first priority. As a leader in his field, he has a firm understanding of how employers attempt to avoid having to compensate injured employees, and knows what it takes to win his clients’ claims.
There’s a quote I always use in court and in brief writing. 'Things equal to the same thing are equal to each other.’ It’s a mathematical axiom. It’s great when an employer says something like ‘no, we didn’t fire her’. And I’ll ask ‘but you didn’t let her come back to work, did you?’. So I will show the judge that these two things are actually the same.
After more than a decade-and-a-half into his career, Snyder shows no signs of slowing down. In the coming years he hopes to grow his practice and to continue helping injured workers in his area win the compensation they deserve.
