Joseph Brown is a distinguished lawyer based in Tempe and Phoenix, Arizona. With fifteen years of experience, Mr. Brown is a leading attorney in the field of personal injury law. He is a proud member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a membership limited to those who have obtained $1 million or more for an injured client, was voted as one of the top five attorneys in Ahwatukee, and holds an excellent Avvo rating. As a Co-Founding Partner of Accident Law Group, he provides award-winning representation to personal injury victims and guarantees that clients do not pay any attorney fees unless the case settles.
Looking back, Mr. Brown never pictured himself with a career in personal injury law. He worked as an insurance adjuster for several years after completing his undergraduate degree and then enrolled in law school. As a justice studies major, Mr. Brown was originally interested in criminal law and thought personal injury would be the last route he would take after dealing with insurance companies and how they treated their clients. As he tells it:
I came out here to Arizona after I graduated law school looking for a job and ended up with a job in the personal injury field. It turned out that I loved it, but that I had just been on the wrong side of the industry as an insurance adjuster. I love being able to help the same clients I felt were being wronged by the insurance companies. Then, about five years ago, I was in a bad accident myself, which drove it home a little bit more, because now I am able to relate to my clients more. I lived and dealt with the accident and know exactly what they are talking about.
After graduating from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, Mr. Brown took an associate attorney position with a large personal injury firm. There he used his prior experience as a claims adjuster to excel. Within four years, Joseph Brown was made a Profit Sharer and in his fifth year he was promoted to Managing Attorney supervising the day to day firm operations. Joseph was also a key participant in the marketing of the firm. Despite climbing to the top, he always insisted on maintaining a full client case load. “I love clients and helping them in their time of need.” Mr. Brown not only was a leader within the firm in settlements and revenue, but most importantly he was a leader in client satisfaction (client referrals and/or online positive reviews) each of the thirteen years he was employed at the firm. He left that firm to start his own law firm with a more personal approach; focusing on the client and giving quality personal service not often provided by other firms.
As a former insurance adjuster, Mr. Brown has a unique vantage point in his industry: he has experienced firsthand the inner workings of insurance companies. He understands how they can and will take advantage of personal injury victims who are either unrepresented or who do not have great representation. Mr. Brown has used this knowledge to anticipate the strategies typically used by insurance providers and has successfully represented thousands of clients in personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, motorcycle accidents, dog-bites, and wrongful death, among many other practice areas.
As a leader in his field, Mr. Brown keeps his eye on prevailing trends within personal injury law. In particular, he is concerned with where the country is heading with healthcare reform and what may change with the new president:
The Affordable Care Act is actually very good for our business here in Arizona. I see more clients with health insurance, which helps their cases and their opportunity to be treated compared to other clients who are unable to. Watching that eventually go away and seeing a favoritism towards big business is definitely going to hurt the consumer, which is who I defend and fight for.
When he is not working hard to defend his clients, Mr. Brown enjoys giving back to his local community and has participated in charity events all over the Phoenix metro area, including Hospice of the Valley and Special Olympics. He also loves playing golf, basketball, and volleyball, and spending time with his wife and three children.
After over a decade dedicated to law, Mr. Brown envisions a bright future ahead. He has a fairly new firm that is already more successful than he could have hoped for and is excited to watch it grow and provide more personalized service to more accident victims in Arizona.
