Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Kent G. Miller is a leading gynecologist based in Gainesville, Georgia. At his private practice, Kent Miller Gynecology, Dr. Miller treats patients of all ages, providing care in general women’s health, OB/GYN, and aesthetic services such as vaginal rejuvenation. Over the course of his more than thirty-year career, Dr. Miller has been become known for his compassionate and knowledgeable care, winning accolades such as Vitals' People's Choice Award. Kent Miller Gynecology is one of only seven research and clinical education centers in the U.S. that runs up to ten FDA drug study trials at any given time.
Inspired by the ability to make a difference in people’s lives, Dr. Miller knew from a young age that he was meant to be a doctor. As he tells it, he discovered his passion for obstetrics and gynecology in medical school:
I wanted to do something where I could perform surgery, but I didn’t want to treat sick and dying patients in the ICU; I wanted to care for a young healthy population that I could actually help. I also had so much fun delivering babies. OB/GYN was the perfect combination of all that.
Dr. Miller earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School of Shreveport in 1985 before completing an internship and residency at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center-Parkland Memorial Hospital. In the years since, his calm and attentive demeanor, alongside the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere of his office, have made his private practice one of the most popular and trusted among women in his region.
Today, Dr. Miller offers a variety of treatments to help women attain complete bodily health and wellness. From endometriosis and certain kinds of cancers to aesthetic procedures that include vaginal rejuvenation and body contouring, no problem is too complex for Dr. Miller’s discerning eye. In common health concerns such as weight management and routine pap smears as well as more serious conditions, he and his team are renowned for their personable and caring service throughout the testing and treatment processes.
A thought leader in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Miller is highly active in his field. He currently serves as currently OB/GYN peer reviewer for the Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners, a medical malpractice case reviewer for multiple Georgia law firms, and an ongoing clinical instructor for numerous colleges throughout the state. Committed to keeping the public informed and healthy, he is also a local radio host for OB/GYN and General Medicine segments on WDUN.
With this prominence, Dr. Miller keeps his eye on developing trends in gynecology. In particular, he notes that his practice is growing the aesthetic side of the business as managed care becomes more prevalent:
Though managed care—a system in which the cost of treatment is monitored—can have a tremendous impact on the affordability of healthcare, it is also having a big effect on physician salaries. To help with this, we are offering more aesthetic procedures that wouldn’t fall under that system.
After dedicating more than three decades to medicine, Dr. Miller envisions a bright future ahead for himself and his patients. In addition to growing his aesthetic practice, he would like to conduct more FDA drug trials, as well as bring in a secondary provider to allow him to help even more people. Beyond his work treating patients, Dr. Miller owns twenty-seven acres of land with his family where he runs Freedom Farm, an animal sanctuary and rehabilitation center for abused animals.
