Mashood Qadri is a distinguished physician based in Chandler, Arizona. With over twenty years of experience he is one of the top Nephrologists in the Phoenix area. He currently practices with Desert Kidney Associates, PLC.
Compassionate and an avid intellectual, Qadri's decision to go into medicine was a natural one.
I think that wanting to become a doctor is almost something people are born with. I want to help people, and I think a doctor provides a direct and critical type of help. Medicine is also a field in which you will be learning constantly.
Born in London, Qadri earned his medical degree from Dow University Health Sciences Center in 1992. He then emigrated to the United States for his postgraduate education, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
After finishing his medical training, Qadri spent three years in private practice on Long Island, New York. Subsequently, he was a Staff Physician at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he also served as an Assistant Professor at the Louisiana State University Health Services.
In 2007 Qadri moved to the Phoenix area and began practicing with Desert Kidney Associates, PLC. Practicing at two locations, in Chandler and Casa Grande, Qadri has become known for his empathetic care and effective treatment of a wide range of kidney diseases, especially hypertension. His success has been recognized with numerous awards and honors over the course of his career, including the receiving the Golden Thread Award and being named a Top Doc in 2013 by Phoenix Magazine.
As a leader in nephrology, Qadri is keenly aware of current trends in his industry. In particular, he notes the recent uptick of certain kidney diseases in the United States.
Unfortunately diabetes and obesity are both more prevalent than they used to be. This all is causing a higher incidence of many kidney diseases. The third thing is that more people have uncontrolled hypertension, i.e. an elevated heart rate. Our aging population is also leading to more chronic kidney diseases.
But as one of the top Nephrologists in his region, Dr. Qadri embraces the challenge of fighting these diseases. In the coming years, he hopes to continue offering the most effective treatment available and guiding his patients to healthy fulfilling lives.
