Michael E. Hendricks is a distinguished attorney based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mr. Hendricks is the owner of Hendricks Law, a reputable immigration and naturalization firm, where he specializes in family immigration, deferred action/expert release, employment immigration, and deportation defense. Raised in Central Mexico himself, Mr. Hendricks focuses his legal practice on providing assistance for Mexican and Hispanic families throughout the Southwest United States. In 2016 he was honored with the American Institute of Legal Counsel's Exceptional and Outstanding Client Services Award and in 2017 was included in the American Society of Legal Advocates’ prestigious Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 list.
As he tells it, Mr. Hendricks's decision to pursue a career in immigration law was a natural one:
The legal field is replete with areas of law that can help others; however, with my specific skill sets in language, cultural competencies, and my heart for the immigrant population in the U.S., I felt as though I could be of most help to people working in immigration.
Mr. Hendricks came to the United States at the age of seventeen to attend the University of New Mexico, where he graduated cum laude with his bachelor’s degree in political science in 2011 and his Juris Doctor in 2013. Mr. Hendricks then worked as a managing attorney with various prestigious immigration attorneys including John W. Lawit PC, Maney and Gordon, PA, Whittenburg Law Firm, and later Beacon Immigration, finally receiving his license in 2014. He received his M.B.A. in International Business from Walden University in 2016, rounding out his skillset. In 2015 he founded Hendricks Law, driven by the mission of effectively representing disenfranchised clients who feel that they don’t have access to the legal system.
Today, as the leader of an accomplished and dedicated team, Mr. Hendricks provides clients with stellar legal representation in a wide variety of legal matters including not just immigration law, but personal injury and business law as well. He works diligently to ensure the most cost-effective and sensible solutions for each individual or business that seeks his counsel, operating his firm with a focus on integrity, advocacy, and understanding.
With plans to alter the landscape of immigration law, Mr. Hendricks is in the process of developing a comprehensive online interface which will allow people to access important instructions and helpful information regarding the immigration process. His goal is to lead them down the correct path from the beginning, so they can navigate the immigration process with the backing of an attorney, but at a fraction of the cost. Commenting on his unique approach to representing clients, Mr. Hendricks says:
We consider ourselves a Christian firm, which is a very rare thing to hear in the law. The way we have branded ourselves is through customer service, and I always tell people that our number one goal is to help you have a good night’s sleep. We try to help people feel peace. We have a message of peace that helps in very turbulent times to kind of mitigate the effect of negative news releases that are just there to sell stories not actually be truthful.
With a genuine passion for helping people through the work he does, Mr. Hendricks often speaks at different organizations to share his knowledge on the ins and outs of the immigration process. Most recently, he spoke at a family organization called “Parents Reaching Out” as well as the New Mexico Roofers Association. Additionally, he serves as the consulting attorney for the Mexican Consulate in New Mexico, he’s a board member of a notable human trafficking organization, and a group called TNTI Ministries. Hendricks Law also serves the community by providing Pro-Bono services to those most in need, often reaching as many as 300-500 hours in a single year.
Moving forward, Mr. Hendricks intends to cement his firm’s reputation as the largest immigration firm in the state of New Mexico. He has plans to expand Hendricks Law into Denver, Phoenix, and possibly California. Mr. Hendrick's ultimate goal is to create a network within metropolitan areas with large immigrant populations so he and his firm can guide them towards better representation.
