Philip Colt Moss is a distinguished trial attorney specializing in criminal, employment, and personal injury law. Mr. Moss currently practices with Wandro & Associates, P.C. in Des Moines, one of the most prominent law firms in the state of Iowa. Since beginning his career in 2012, he has already garnered a reputation as a premier attorney in the Midwest, where he is known for his creativity, in-depth knowledge, and dedication to helping his clients navigate the complexities of the legal system both inside and outside the courtroom.
For Mr. Moss, law represented an opportunity to fulfill his long-held belief in the importance of helping others. As he tells it:
My interest in law stems from my desire to help people and to help them solve problems they couldn’t solve on their own.”
Since earning his Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of Law in North Carolina, Mr. Moss has translated this magnanimous conviction into an unyielding effort to fight for his clients' interests. Whether facing the threat of criminal prosecution or filing a lawsuit against an employer, he understands that for most people interacting with the legal system can be daunting. With a sympathetic ear, Mr. Moss emphasizes clear communication and a compassionate approach to his practice. He brings energy and verve to each case, as well as a relentless optimism that puts clients at ease every step of the way.
After graduating from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2007, Mr. Moss wasted no time in law school cutting his teeth as a litigator. During his time as a law student, he was highly involved in courtroom-related activities, including having served as a mock trial judge and as a student prosecutor in a Teen Drug Court in Gaston County, North Carolina. He graduated in 2012 with Dean’s List honors.
Mr. Moss joined Wandro & Associates, P.C. as a trial attorney directly out of law school. His previous trial experience allowed him to hit the ground running. Practicing with a firm renowned for obtaining multi-million dollar settlements, Mr. Moss quickly became known as one of Wandro’s most formidable litigators, capable of achieving remarkable results for his clients. Today, he maintains a wide-ranging practice that includes criminal matters and employment-related issues to personal injury cases and contract disputes.
As a leader in his field, Mr. Moss keeps his finger on the pulse of prevailing trends in the legal profession. In particular, he has noticed the increased use of digital tools all across the industry. As one of the youngest attorneys in his firm, Mr. Moss is well positioned to capitalize on this shift. He noted:
The entire industry is moving towards the digital world. Transitioning from having paper files to only having digital files is one of those things that takes some getting used to. It creates a bit of a dichotomy between the older attorneys who still use paper files and the younger attorneys who are generally well-versed in the digital world. I’m excited to see where the industry goes moving forward.”
With his first six years of practice behind him, Mr. Moss envisions a bright future ahead. Looking forward, he plans to continue expanding his roster of clients with an eye toward building and maintaining lasting relationships through his compassionate and diligent representation. Already boasting an impressive list of accomplishments, Mr. Moss hopes to someday open his own firm.
