Raymond J. Slomski is an experienced trial attorney specializing in personal injury cases including wrongful death, permanent injuries, and medical malpractice. With thirty-five years in practice, he is the founder of The Law Offices of Raymond J. Slomski, a Phoenix-area firm known for its aggressive litigation techniques and competent client service. Mr. Slomski has been rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell® and has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers® since 2007.
Mr. Slomski notes that even as a child, he had a penchant for taking on bullies:
I’ve wanted to be a lawyer since I was in primary school. I always saw them as prestigious, dynamic members of the community. To this day, I love representing people who have been taken advantage of by someone more powerful than themselves.
With a career in law in his sights, Mr. Slomski went straight to law school at Northwestern University School of Law, graduating with his Juris Doctorate in 1981. After graduation, he accepted a position with a prominent Phoenix firm where he gained valuable experience in insurance defense and civil litigation. Today, it is that foundational experience on the other side of the courtroom that makes Mr. Slomski such a strong advocate for his personal injury clients.
In 1988, Mr. Slomski struck out on his own, founding The Law Offices of Raymond J. Slomski, where today he is known for his commitment to holding careless parties accountable for the injuries or even deaths caused by their negligence. From birth injuries to a wide variety of other medical malpractice cases and other personal injury matters, Mr. Slomski and his team are recognized for their steadfast advocacy of clients going through some of the most physically and emotionally demanding moments of their lives.
After decades of experience, Mr. Slomski is a formidable litigator, adept at using the unique aspects of each case to argue on behalf of his clients. The Law Offices of Raymond J. Slomski boasts an impressive roster of verdicts and settlements in favor of its clients, including $4.75 million awarded for post-operative malpractice, $3 million awarded for excessive force by a police officer, $3.6 million awarded for surgical malpractice, and a total of over $100 million awarded to its clients throughout Arizona.
With such extensive experience in his field, Mr. Slomski has become a widely-regarded authority on matters of personal injury and wrongful death law. He notes:
I’m paying most attention to the proposed medical malpractice statutes drafted in Congress. The insurance industry is a powerful lobbying force, and legislative changes could have a huge effect on the kinds of settlements my clients can obtain.
Looking forward, Mr. Slomski plans to continue providing the industry-leading client representation for which he has become so well-known. “I get to change the lives of deserving people,” he explains. “I would like as many opportunities as possible to do that."
Mr. Slomski is a board member and lifetime member of the Arizona Association for Justice. When not working, Mr. Slomski and his wife are long-time contributors to Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona. They are also patrons of the arts, and Mr. Slomski currently sits on the Board of Trustees at the Phoenix Art Museum.
