Sandy Jamison is a distinguished San Francisco Bay Area real estate broker with over fifteen years of professional experience. She is the owner of Tuscana Properties, a full-service real estate firm in San Jose where she works with buyers and sellers throughout the Silicon Valley on achieving their dreams of homeownership. Featured in Top Agent Magazine in 2016, Sandy was named the 2016 Realtor of Year by the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors and is a Zillow 5-Star Premier Agent. Most recently, she was named one of the "Top 100 Women of Influence" by the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
As she tells it, it was through the encouragement of one of her college professors that Sandy found her way into the world of real estate:
I had a professor come in one day who talked about real estate and how it’s such a great investment because everything you spend on it is all tax-deductible, and then over time other people pay it off for you, and it makes you money. It’s just unlike any other investment out there. That motivated me to go out and buy my first property with nothing down. Within the first six months of owning that property, I refinanced it, took all the money, and paid off all my student loans.
Sandy attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1998. Six months out of college, she began her real estate career as an investor and purchased several properties with plans to get her license so she could sell them herself. While studying for her license, she attended Santa Clara University for graduate school and honed her business acumen working for companies such as eBay and Advanced Micro Devices.
In 2004, Sandy earned her M.B.A. and her real estate license and quickly got to work representing many of her coworkers who were looking to buy homes. She started working under a broker part-time, developing the necessary skills to one day open her own business. In 2008, Sandy received her broker’s license and encouraged her husband, Robert Jamison, to obtain his license so together they could open Tuscana Properties.
As a Certified Probate Real Estate Specialist and Foreclosure Expert, Sandy focuses on residential sales and purchases in Santa Clara County, customizing her approach for each individual client so that she can prioritize their specific needs. With the use of professional photography and staging, she makes sure every home leaves a lasting impression. She also uses a full spectrum of online listing platforms, including Zillow and Facebook marketing, so that her listings can reach the widest audience possible.
As a leader in her field, Sandy pays close attention to what other top agents in the market are doing so she can stay updated on areas of improvement that will ultimately better serve her clients. She noted:
It's all about adding value. There are several brokers out there who are beginning to pay for rehab and renovation costs up front with the expectation that they will get reimbursed at closing, so I'm starting to offer that level of service to my clients.
Beyond her work with Tuscana Properties, Sandy is an active member of her local community. Currently, she serves as a state director for the California Association of Realtors and sits on the Board of Directors for the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors (SCCAOR). In the past, she chaired the SCCAOR's Grievances and Education department and now sits on the association's Political Action Committee in addition to serving as a professional standards director, a position in which she takes part in code of ethics hearings and arbitration remediation cases between Realtors. Sandy was also recently elected president of SCCAOR and will begin her term in 2019.
Moving forward in her career, Sandy plans to focus on sales and intends to bring on a new passionate team member to help manage incoming leads and grow Tuscana Properties into a leading market player. Motivated by providing clients with a top-tier level of service, she utilizes her knowledge and experience to achieve their real estate goals with the highest level of professionalism and personalized care.
When she’s not busy running her business, Sandy enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and manages her own homestead where she tends to goats, chickens, rabbits, fruit trees, and a 2,000 square foot garden.
