Steven C. Robinson is a distinguished attorney who has been representing clients in matters of estate and business planning, probate, and real estate for thirty-seven years. He is a partner at Robinson Wolenty & Young, LLP Attorneys at Law (RW&Y) in Indianapolis, Indiana, a personal service law firm specializing in cases relating to real estate development, secured lending and banking, estate planning and probate, business services, and mediation.
Inspired by his father-in-law Robert R. Girk, Mr. Robinson decided to pursue a path in the legal field and hasn’t looked back since. As he tells it:
My father-in-law was a lawyer, and I always respected what he did with his life. He was a CPA and an attorney. He never practiced accounting, but he kept his license up, and as an attorney he was very well-respected in the community. Being an attorney seemed like a way to be involved and make a difference.
Mr. Robinson studied social sciences as an undergraduate at Colorado State University and graduated with the highest distinction in 1975. He then attended law school at the University of Colorado and received his Juris Doctor in 1979. For the next fifteen years, he worked as a top attorney at Lowe Gray Steele & Hoffman, before co-founding Robinson & Wolenty in 1994.
Upon joining forces with Barbara Wolently, Mr. Robinson opened Robinson & Wolenty on the north side of Indianapolis, which in 2001 became RW&Y with the addition of Elizabeth T. Young. He has been providing comprehensive legal representation ever since, working primarily in the areas of real estate, estate planning, and business planning. Today, his decades of experience and attention to detail set him apart from his peers in his industry. He conducts his practice with a standard-setting level of professionalism and courtesy, treating every client as a personal friend in need of guidance.
As a leader in his field, Mr. Robinson pays careful attention to prevailing trends in the law. In particular, he has been keeping his eye on developments within the tech field and how those developments affect the practice of traditional lawyers such as himself. He noted:
Legal Zoom, Rocket Lawyer and other similar companies are competing with lawyers allowing people to prepare their own legal documents. However, these companies do not provide the personal service and guidance that an attorney can provide. Not having the overhead of a large firm, I can effectively compete with these companies and still provide personal service and a quality product.
Looking ahead, Mr. Robinson plans to continue serving his clients with competence and integrity, working in a timely, cost-effective manner that best suits their personal needs. When he’s not working, he enjoys reading, writing, bicycle riding, and traveling.
