Timothy M. Kolman is a distinguished attorney based just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With over thirty years of experience, Mr. Kolman is a fierce advocate for workers' rights and a leading figure in the field of employment law. The founding partner with the law firm Kolman Ely, P.C., he has twice been awarded the Lead Counsel Designation in Labor & and Employment Law from Thompson Reuters, among many other honors.

Mr. Kolman has made a career out of protecting the rights of workers, motivated by his desire to hold corporations accountable when they take advantage of employees. In his own words:

We are different in the way we approach the practice of law. We genuinely care about our clients and are cognizant of the significant responsibility they have entrusted to us. We are motivated to litigate for the disadvantaged wherever they might be, but specifically in the areas of civil rights and employment because the Plaintiffs have neither the expertise nor the resources to fight for themselves, especially against government agencies and large corporations.

Originally from London, England, Mr. Kolman received his first law degree from the University of Glasgow in Scotland with high honors. He then attended and received his second law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he was an editor of the Law Review. He is also a combat veteran who saw action in the Middle East.

In 1991, Mr. Kolman established his own practice. Throughout his career, he has represented hundreds of clients encompassing a wide variety of employment law matters, including workplace harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination, among others. He also represents clients in civil rights cases and complex commercial litigation. An experienced litigator and negotiator, his work has made him a lifetime member of the Million-Dollar and Multi-Million-Dollar Forum. He was also recently selected by Who’s Who worldwide as a top lawyer.

Mr. Kolman prides himself on being an advocate for the “rank and file.” His work to hold the "more powerful" responsible has earned him recognition among the top ten percent of employment lawyers in the United States, according to “Lawyers of Distinction.” He approaches each challenge with determination and a strategic mind and is renowned for his tenacious and fearless trial skills and his steadfast moral compass. He explains:

When we go up against very large corporations we think outside the box. We are always original and always unpredictable. We think of every case on its own terms and in its own way. We are never cookie cutter. That makes us different and more formidable.

After more than three decades of practicing law, Mr. Kolman shows no signs of slowing down. Looking to the future, he aims to continue growing his law firm in New Jersey, New York, and the Virgin Islands. The firm already represents clients throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He offers his clients the compassionate and effective representation for which he has become known.
